Christ E. C. Church, has a rich heritage dating back more that a century; with our denominationally-affiliated roots being in the Wesleyan- Methodist tradition.
The Evangelical Congregational denomination began in this part of Montgomery County in the mid-to-late 1800's, with three church buildings. They were located in Trappe, Limerick Square, and Schwenksville; and often shared a pastor.
Through about 1928, some denominational splits, mergers, and name changes occurred, eventually leading to a division in the Schwenksville congregation, with the ultimate end being, a new church in zieglerville-- our present location.
This building was dedicated on January 15, 1895; built on land donated by Mr. O.W. Schwenk, with most of the money being contributed by Mr. Jacob Klein, with a substantial estate in trust, from which the property continues to be maintained.
